Ade Famoti

Senior Director, Research Incubations, Microsoft
Senior Director, Research Incubations, Microsoft. Ade is a Global Senior Director in Microsoft Research (MSR), where he leads focused AI research incubations within the MSR Accelerator, driving AI innovation at the intersection of science, technology, business, and society. His current research interest includes embodied Artificial Intelligence, robotics, autonomous systems, computer vision, and multi-modal foundation models. He is also deeply committed to advancing the emerging role of AI in material discovery, AI de novo drug design, and nuclear fusion. With over 20 years in the industry, he's worked in several leadership roles in Microsoft and in industry, leading multi-country operations, and teams driving industry-wide cloud adoption, and digital transformation across commercial and public sectors. He is an active member of ACM, IEEE’s Cognitive Robotics Committee, ASTM’s F45 and F38 Committees on robotics and autonomous systems, the Alan Turing Institute’s Neuro-Symbolic AI group, and SAE’s G34/EUROCAE WG-114 on AI in aerospace. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Information Science from Morgan State University, an M.Sc. in Technology Management from Columbia University, deep reinforcement learning training from MIT, and a member of Clare Hall college at the University of Cambridge.
