Rahul Srinivasan
Senior Energy Professional
Rahul Srinivasan is a senior energy professional with deep and extensive international experience (spanning Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia) in renewables and energy access across the private sector and international development organizations such as the World Bank and the United Nations. At Sustainable Energy for All - a United Nations hosted organization, Rahul manages multiple projects and global partnerships at the intersection of energy and end-use sectors such as health, education, and agriculture, thus driving the deployment of clean energy solutions across Sub-Saharan Africa and the broader Global South.
Prior to joining Sustainable Energy for All, Rahul worked at the World Bank where he co-managed ESMAP's global and cross-sectoral Efficient, Clean Cooling program which focused on climate friendly cold chains for the health (COVID-19 and beyond) and agriculture (food security and safety) sectors. He was a core member of the World Bank's COVID 19 Global Vaccine Delivery Taskforce, focusing on deployment of sustainable health infrastructure (including cold chains) to deliver COVID 19 vaccines in low and middle income countries, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. Rahul also supported programs on regional power trade in Eastern Africa, geothermal energy, and climate resilience.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Rahul worked in private sector energy consulting (wind, solar, natural gas) as a Senior Engineer and Client Manager. Subsequently, he graduated with a Master’s in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School where he served as a Teaching Fellow on Energy Policy and Markets and was bestowed the Don. K. Price award for academic excellence and significant impact on the Harvard community.
Rahul is a seasoned speaker on the topics of energy access, energy-climate nexus with agriculture/health/education, sustainability, and leadership and has spoken at various international forums ranging from UNGA and World Health Assembly to the Harvard Business School Africa Business Conference.
