Jemimah Orevaoghene

Director on the venture team at Morgan Stanley
Raised across Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa, Jemimah offers a unique global perspective within the investment landscape. As a sophomore at Yale College, she began saving $1,000 each quarter to invest in African venture capital opportunities. During her tenure in Private Equity at Goldman Sachs, Jemimah consistently advocated for increased institutional investment in Africa, led the team’s first set of investments into the continent and leveraged her personal network to expand the deal pipeline. With over six years of investment experience, Jemimah has a proven track record of sourcing and closing early-stage private deals across Sub-Saharan Africa and the MENA region. She is currently a Director on the venture team at Morgan Stanley, with a focus on sourcing and supporting African companies within the portfolio. Jemimah is deeply committed to fostering the African tech ecosystem through a hands-on approach and by partnering with founders aiming to secure successful international fundraising rounds. She is also a Limited Partner in LoftyInc Capital, an African focused Venture Fund that has backed Africa’s most successful ventures including Flutterwave, Angela, Moove, Wave, amongst others. Additionally, she authors the newsletter “African VC Decoded,” which guides professionals in the diaspora on investing locally in Africa.
