Maua Osoro

Maua Osoro is a Master of Science candidate in Education Entrepreneurship at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education, where she is strengthening her knowledge in pedagogy and expanding her business acumen. Her career, which spans management consulting, corporate finance, and venture capital, demonstrates her ability to create strategic value across sectors. Earlier in her career, Maua built a strong foundation in corporate finance, conducting audits and managing high-stakes financial due diligence processes for companies across diverse industries. She later joined McKinsey & Company, where she contributed to high-impact projects for Fortune 500 clients in North America. Her venture capital experience further broadened her expertise, equipping her with skills in deal flow development and assessing high-growth startups in emerging markets. Before joining Penn GSE, Maua began exploring the EdTech landscape by consulting with an EdTech company in East Africa, where she led the development of a comprehensive Impact Report and Framework and supported the organization’s investment strategy. This experience ignited her passion for leveraging technology to address educational challenges in underserved regions. Maua is now developing a parent-teacher communication app designed to bridge critical communication gaps in Sub-Saharan African schools, empowering parents and teachers to connect more effectively to support student success.
