Erik has 25 years of experience in developing, financing, and managing energy investments worldwide and has closed over $5.5 billion in transactions. In 2019, Erik founded Milele Energy, a Nairobi-based platform with projects in Kenya and Sierra Leone, and served on the Board of Directors of the 310 MW Lake Turkana Power project, Africa�s largest wind farm. Prior to launching Milele, Erik was Managing Director and Africa Leader for GE Capital in Nairobi, where he led the team responsible for origination, risk assessment, and execution of projects in support of GE equipment sales across Africa. Before GE Africa, Erik was Vice President at NYSE-listed Atlantic Power in Boston, where he led the origination and execution of acquisitions. Prior to that, Erik was a Senior Vice President at GE Capital, leading the Risk team responsible for executing investments in emerging markets, and later oversaw the development and execution of wind power projects in the US. Before joining GE, Erik spent 11 years at CMS Energy, focusing on the development and financing of power projects globally, including closing the first private power projects in Morocco and Ghana. Erik also worked at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and the Export-Import Bank of the US. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from American University in Washington.
