Brendan Asante
Founder, Jerk & Jollof
Brendan Asante, founder of the global Afro-Caribbean phenomenon Jerk X Jollof, created the brand as a way to honor the heritage he grew up in. Pulling from the classic community functions he would attend as a child, his goal was to recreate that same atmosphere of fellowship and energy with a twist for young professionals – enabling them to see themselves through the unique lens of Afro-Caribbean culture, cuisine, and community that Jerk X Jollof offers. Fast forward from its start in 2016, the brand has toured multiple continents – including Australia, Africa, Europe, North America, and counting – and shows no signs of slowing down. The goal now? For the brand to be built into a dependable cultural cornerstone for Afro-Caribbean entertainment and culture across multiple mediums for years to come – it’s safe to say Jerk X Jollof is well on its way to that.
