Funke Faweya is the founder of Benemasia LLC, a boutique advisory and operations management firm that helps founders and CEOs of African heritage launch or scale creative or cultural consumer ventures in global markets. She has expertise in the luxury goods/retail, food and beverage, personal care, beauty & wellness, and home care sectors across developed markets, emerging markets, and Sub-Saharan Africa. She has advised brands, incubators, accelerators, and investors such as Lagos Space Programme, Atelier Onikan, Waf., Ike Lagos, Toro, Orda, Chef Eros, Shekudo, Christie Brown, Alara, Axxess Health, Space 001 at Oculus NY, CrossBoundary, Birimian Ventures, Lagos x Paris, Equity Alliance, and Squared Circles. In addition, she has 10+ years of experience across consumer multinationals like Procter & Gamble and Unilever, PE-backed brands such as SheaMoisture, and early-stage startups, driving top- and bottom-line growth through operational leadership, innovation/go-to-market strategy, and initiative management across multiple geographies and business contexts. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
